Delete your MeroSplit account

In the app

  1. Open Me.
  2. Choose Delete account.
  3. Read what will be removed and export anything you need. Type delete exactly, enter your current account email, then choose Delete account.

You need an internet connection. This deletes your user account, sign-in sessions, email, UPI address and notification registration. Your uploads, including bill attachments, are removed from visible records and marked for physical deletion. New download links are blocked immediately; previously issued links expire within five minutes unless physical deletion removes the file earlier. Authored bill text is removed or replaced with neutral placeholders, including in change history. Cached account records and queued changes are removed from this phone. Older phone records that you have not added to an account remain separate.

If you cannot use the app

Email mail@merosplit.com with the subject “MeroSplit account deletion”. Send from the account's email address where possible and say that you want your MeroSplit account deleted. We may ask you to confirm ownership. Do not send your password, UPI PIN, bank credentials or full payment-card details.

What can remain

Groups you own without another active linked member are removed. In groups with other members, your participant becomes “Deleted participant”; anonymous bill amounts, splits, dates and payment records remain so other members keep correct balances. Your authored text and uploaded attachments are removed from visible group records. If content added by someone else contains personal information you want removed, include that request in your email. Physical file deletion can remain pending if the storage provider is unavailable; new download links are blocked, existing links expire within five minutes, and physical deletion can be retried. Previously exported or downloaded copies held by other members are outside MeroSplit's control. This beta currently has no configured scheduled database backups or point-in-time recovery.
